De Nunzio began his finance career with Unilever and has held executive management and finance positions in the retail and healthcare sectors. He was a non-executive director of Howden Joinery and MFI Group from 2000 to 2007. He was president and CEO at Asda from 2002 to 2005. He was appointed deputy chairman of MFI Retail and non-executive chairman of Maxeda in 2005. In March 2010 he was appointed non-executive chairman of Pets at Home.
